How we checked
Last checked October 20, 2026 against its sources. Before anything appears here, a separate check fetches each source again and confirms that every date we show is in the quoted text.
Notes from the last check
Press reports quoting Historic Environment Scotland say the 2026 Castle of Light will not go ahead and the contract was not extended, while a VisitScotland listing still shows November 2026 to January 2027; no official HES page confirming the cancellation could be fetched, so the cancellation rests on news quotes of an HES statement.
