How we checked
Last checked October 20, 2026 against taihape.co.nz. Before anything appears here, a separate check fetches each source again and confirms that every date we show is in the quoted text.
Notes from the last check
Taihape's Gumboot Day and gumboot-throwing contest is evidenced as running through a fetched taihape.co.nz listing for 2024 and a 2026 competition page, but no official date for a current or upcoming Gumboot Day edition was confirmed from a page I could read, so the edition status is tba.
