How we checked
Last checked October 20, 2026 against rapanui.net. Before anything appears here, a separate check fetches each source again and confirms that every date we show is in the quoted text.
Notes from the last check
The festival is operating: its 2026 edition ran 3 to 14 February (13.cl, 5 Feb 2026), and the municipality's site carries a Tāpati 2026 item dated 23 Sep 2026. The only rule quoted from an official source is a tourism-board line, 'first two weeks of February', and no 2027 dates were found on any official page, so the next edition is expected but not confirmed.
